The Brands Students Boosted During Freshers 2026
Freshers may be over, but the savings aren’t. Over the past few weeks, students have been using the SUBTV Perks Daily Vote to choose the brands they most want to see boosted. That means the offers on Perks aren’t just a static list of student discounts. Your votes can help shape which brands get better offers. And during Freshers, students made their priorities pretty clear.
So, what were students voting for?
Some of the most boosted brands included Sainsbury’s, Tesco, IKEA and Uber Eats.
Students were also able to access offers that reached:
- 25% at Foot Locker
- 20% at adidas
- 12% at H&M
- 12% at Miller & Carter
- 10% at Primark
Tesco also moved from 4% to 7% during the campaign.
The pattern was clear: students wanted better value on the places they already spend.
Groceries. Food. Fashion. Eating out. Everyday essentials. Not complicated. Just useful.
How does the Perks Daily Vote work?
Every day, you can vote for the brands you want to see boosted.
The brands getting the most support can move up the rankings and unlock stronger offers, giving you a reason to check back rather than assuming the discount you saw last week is still the best one available. If there’s a brand you use regularly, vote for it.
And if the current offer isn’t enough to tempt you? Vote again tomorrow.
The brands that performed strongly during Freshers weren’t simply the ones students happened to browse. They were the ones students actively said they wanted better value from.
Don’t stop at the headline discount
One of the most useful things to know about Perks is that your saving can sometimes be used alongside an existing retailer offer.
That means the real question isn’t always:
“What percentage do I get?”
It’s:
“How much can I save altogether?”
For example, if a retailer is already running a promotion and you can pay using a discounted Perks gift card, you may be able to reduce the cost again.
That’s where a 5%, 7% or 10% Perks saving can become much more valuable.
Always check the individual retailer terms first, as offers and stacking rules vary.
Check before you spend
The easiest way to get more value from Perks is to make it part of your normal spending routine.
Buying clothes? Ordering food? Doing the weekly shop? Going out for dinner?
Before you pay, check Perks.
See what the current offer is. Check whether the brand has been boosted. Look at any promotion the retailer is already running. Then work out the best way to combine the savings available to you. It takes a few seconds and can make a noticeable difference over the course of a term.
Freshers was just the start
Around 26% of completed Perks sign-ups during the Freshers activation period came through Freshers Fayres, helping contribute to more than 1,000 sign-ups that week.
But signing up is only useful if you keep using it. The Daily Vote, changing offers and new opportunities to save mean there is a reason to check back regularly.
Your favourite brand might have a better offer today than it did last week. A retailer might be running a promotion you can combine with your Perks saving. Or a brand you vote for might be the next one to get boosted. So take one habit with you beyond Freshers:
Before you spend, check Perks.
Because full price? Cancelled.
