SUBTV Idents in Partnership with UAL/LCC

SUBTV Team
As a company that operates within student spaces, we believe it’s our responsibility to champion the creativity, ambition, and voices of the students we serve. That’s why, over the past few years, we’ve partnered closely with London College of Communication, University of the Arts London to bring student-made work to our channel — giving emerging creatives a national platform to showcase their ideas to their peers across the country.
At the same time, these collaborations help us keep SUBTV constantly engaging and relevant to our audience.
Students created a catalogue of new logo idents, to be broadcast on the SUBTV music channel.
They were encouraged to take inspiration from the creatively animated idents utilised by broadcasting television channels across the world, such as the boundary pushing MTV idents of the 80s and 90s.
Showcasing their own personality and creative style, students produced original, vibrant and original narratives, and unique plays on the SUBTV Playlister logo.
We then selected 10 idents by BA Illustration and Visual Media, and 6 idents by BA Animation to purchase.
“The students brought such a wide range of narratives and interpretations to the brief — each one unique, authentic, and bold. The technical execution and conceptual thinking were on a professional level, and the overall quality of work exceeded our expectations.” - Erin Carlin, SUBTV Creative Lead
UAL shared the news with links to our selected idents in fulll: https://www.arts.ac.uk/colleges/london-college-of-communication/business-partnerships-and-knowledge-exchange/student-and-graduate-projects/subtv
By bringing real student perspectives and fresh creative energy directly onto our screens, we’re able to reflect the communities we broadcast to keeping us genuinely connected to student culture.
We’re incredibly proud to continue supporting student creativity on screen. Hope you enjoy this year's idents as much as we did!
Cheers,
SUBTV
