Student Perks is coming!

Lillian Kajobe

In the wake of a riveting Rugby World Cup season, we’ve taken to the numbers to dissect the substantial impact the tournament had on our venues. The data gleaned offers us a wealth of insights, charting a course for future event planning and operational strategies.

The chart above encapsulates the occupancy trends observed during normal Saturdays compared against the bustling Rugby World Cup knockout stages. The compelling narrative told by these figures is one of significant triumph; on knockout game days, our venues witnessed occupancy rates surging to double, sometimes triple, the numbers of a regular Saturday.

Diving deeper into the analytics, we found that throughout the World Cup games, our average occupancy was boosted by a notable 10% over the same period from the previous year. However, the knockout stages painted an even more striking picture—occupancy rates leaped by an impressive 25% when compared to last year’s data. This reinforces the idea that high-stakes matches are key drivers of patronage.

Interestingly, when placed side by side with the occupancy stats from last year’s football World Cup, we noticed a remarkable similarity. This parallel underscore a universal sporting spirit and a shared love for communal experiences that resonate deeply with our patrons.

These findings underscore the importance of aligning our operational strategies with major sporting events. The evidence is clear: there is a pronounced appetite for live sports within our spaces, which offers us a prime opportunity to elevate the customer experience, optimise staffing, and enhance promotions tailored to these peak times.

As we strategise for the upcoming seasons and potential sporting events, let’s carry forward the lessons learned from this World Cup. Our aim should be to harness this momentum, fostering an environment that not only celebrates sports but also enhances our operational efficiency and business growth.

We express our gratitude to everyone who played a part in making these events a success. Let’s continue to cultivate an atmosphere where great sports and exceptional hospitality intersect to the delight of our guests and the betterment of our business.

Here’s to the shared successes of today and the promising strategies of tomorrow.
