Sub.tv is the multiplatform marketing agency for direct targeting to 18-24yr olds in the UK, utilising traditional broadcast supported by online activity, on the ground promotions, events, mobile Bluetooth technology and digital signage.

From concept to execution Sub.tv is the one stop shop for youth marketing solutions to over 1.75million 18-24yr olds.

General Information

The Sub.tv channel began broadcasting in 2003 within student union venues up and down the country. Six years on Sub.tv now has a network of 700 42' plasma screens that reach over 1.76million 18-24yr olds, at 96 Universities within the UK. We deliver compelling and relevant programming, events and experiences. All Sub.tv media channels have created audience ownership through interaction, location and relevance.

Since our launch we have continued to grow and now offer cross-platform advertising and promotional campaigns that integrate the traditional broadcast methods via the Sub.tv screens with a dedicated on the ground production team, specific bluetooth distribution linked to the screens, event management and online activity.

2009 will also see the Sub.tv network grow further with the introduction of the new and advanced Sub.tv Info digital signage network. Aimed specifically for University coverage, within high foot fall areas of University buildings, departments, libraries, canteens, gyms and lecture theatres.

Sub.tv and Gym screen media merged in January 2009 to further expand the joint network of screens across the country. Gym screen media broadcast over 1500 screens within major gyms across the UK, which include Virgin active and David Lloyd gyms. This merger means that both companies are able to offer direct marketing and access to two different, but highly influential and attractive social groups in the UK.

18-24yr old Audience

Our audience constitutes 32% of all 18-24 year olds in the UK - they all also happen to be students at UK Universities. Currently 43% of this age group participate in full time higher education at University and Sub.tv reach 80% of this sector, or 1.7m students.

With the government committed to getting 50% of all 18-24 year olds into HE this is a growing market. Our audience figures are calculated by taking official HESA student numbers (www.hesa.ac.uk), and independent research commissioned by NUSSL (the commercial arm of the NUS) giving number and duration.

This is a techno savvy audience who are the youth of today, faces of tomorrow. They manage to spend on average £7,000 annually giving a total student spend of £20 bn per year. They are just embarking on adult life and developing new communities, interests and consumption patterns.
