Sam Smith announced yesterday he would have to cancel his Australian tour due to a haemorrhage on his vocal cords. The British singer was scheduled to start his tour today, however due to the injury he has been advised to postpone the tour so he can rest and recover. The unfortunate announcement was made via his Instagram, where he wrote “I have been vocally exhausted for a while now, however last night in Sydney I had a small haemorrhage on my vocal cords”. He also adds that this isn’t really a choice, as to continue performing with such an injury could lead to much more severe health problems down the line. Something I think we can all agree is best avoided! Sam’s unfortunate situation just goes to show how being in so much demand from your fans can put real physical strain on a singer’s body. Luckily his Little Sailor’s have been very understanding and forgiving!
