Marsicans Announce UK Tour

Marsicans are an emerging indie-pop band of 21 year-olds from Leeds, England. Formed at high school in 2011, their sound often draws comparisons to bands like Mystery Jets, Arctic Monkeys, Little Comets and Vampire Weekend. They count Bombay Bicycle Club, Paul Simon’s Graceland, the Maccabees and the Beach Boys amongst their diverse influences.

Qualities that have been remarked upon by reviewers include their upbeat/summery sound, infectious pop hooks, intricate guitar work, afro-beat rhythms, quirky lyrics, Yorkshire accents, offbeat northern humour, lack of pretension and energetic performances.

The above video is a song from their live album recorded at this gig, which is released 1st of October via

Marsicans continue to build on their reputation as an exciting live act, having played Reading & Leeds festivals, Live At Leeds and supported Catfish & the Bottlemen, The Pigeon Detectives and Embrace. Recent hometown shows have sold out and garnered rave reviews, whilst a 20-date UK tour in early 2015 won them new fans from London to Newcastle.

From the start, the band received strong support on local radio from BBC Introducing in West Yorkshire’s Alan Raw. Hands, an early recording, earned them their first UK national radio play on BBC6 Music in 2012. Terrapin, from last year’s Chivalry EP, had national radio play via BBC Radio 1 and their most recent single, Gone In A Second, received airplay via XFM and Amazing Radio among others.

Their current release , Gone In A Second, produced by Embrace’s Mickey Dale and an official UK Record Store Day release, is available digitally and on limited edition orange vinyl on Love Vs Fear/Miller Records and V2 Benelux. The Love Vs Fear release features a remix by The Pigeons Detectives’ Jimmi Naylor.
