North London singer/songwriter Jess Glynne has confirmed that her song Take Me Home is the official Children In Need single for 2015.

The singer revealed that she has always been a fan of the charity’s TV appeal show, ‘It was such a big thing in my house. My family and I would always get excited for it and watch. I remember the sketches that they would do with other celebrities, like having the people from Eastenders do a bunch of wacky things.’

While Take Me Home wasn’t written especially for Children In Need, Glynne believes it’s a perfect match ‘It’s a really personal song of mine that I wrote when I was in quite a dark place. It’s weird, because when I was finishing the album, I listened to the track again and I had a smile on my face because now it’s not so much about being in a dark place, but rather, it’s about getting through hardship, I think, because of that, it fits in well for the charity.’

Twenty-six year old Glynne has enjoyed massive success since first landing in the charts last year. Her chart-topping debut album I Cry When I Laugh was preceded by five UK No 1’s which apart from her own Hold My Hand and Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself also includes being featured on singles by Clean Bandit, Route 94 and Tinie Tempah.
