Glastonbury 2016 Sells Out In 30 Minutes!

Glastonbury 2016 sell out

With this year’s music festival season barely over, it comes as a surprise that the tickets to Glastonbury 2016 sold out in thirty minutes when they went on sale yesterday (Sunday October 4th).

Holders of the 135,000 tickets paid £228 plus a £5 booking fee for the event which will take place at Worthy Farm from Wednesday 22nd June until Sunday 26th June next year.

A festival spokesperson commented on the rapid sale ‘We have, once again, been staggered by the sheer number of people from around the world who hoped to come to the Festival, with demand significantly outstripping supply.’

As always tickets were purchased with no knowledge of the line-up although bookmakers William Hill have made Coldplay 4/1 to headline the Pyramid Stage.

Other acts including Adele, Blur, AC/DC, Fleetwood Mac, Muse and Prince are amongst the favourites. The Foo Fighters whose appearance this year was cancelled due to Dave Grohl breaking his leg, are also high on the list.

Founder and organiser Michael Eavis is remaining tight-lipped regarding performers, although he has revealed that all the headline acts have already been booked for the next two festivals and that four of the six are returning headliners while the remaining two are new.

The resale of cancelled, unpaid for and returned tickets will take place in Spring 2016.
