Funeral For A Friend To Split After Final Tour!

Funeral For A Friend split up

Influential Welsh post-hardcore band Funeral For A Friend have announced that they will be calling it a day after playing UK gigs in April next year.

Formed in 2001 they made their debut two years later with Casually Dressed & Deep In Conversation, the first of  seven chart albums that culminated last January with the release of Chapter And Verse.

Explaining the reasons behind the split, lead singer Matthew Davies-Kreye said ‘”It’s the natural end. We’ve done everything we set out to do and way more than I could ever have hoped so I’m not upset that it’s run its course. We all felt that Chapter And Verse was a pretty decent full stop on an incredible fourteen and a half years of making music together”.

Following dates in Australia and Germany Funeral For A Friend will return to the UK for gigs in Cardiff, Manchester, Glasgow, Birmingham and London. With two shows in each city the appropriately named Last Chance To Dance tour will allow fans to pay their respects and get the opportunity to hear their 2005 album Hours in its entirety on the first evening and Casually Dressed & Deep In Conversation on the second.
